Belmar Park

Historic Belmar Park is the latest addition to the Santa Monica park system, providing a space for recreation as well as historical observation on a site where some of Santa Monica’s earliest African American residents lived and worked. This 3.5-acre space contains a sports field, a walking path, a series of historical interpretive signs and a sculpture by artist April Banks entitled “A Resurrection in Four Stanzas.” The art instillation was developed through the Belmar History + Art project to commemorate the home of a thriving African American community in the 1950s and to honor their contribution to present day Santa Monica. The city held a virtual grand opening on February 28, 2021 to officially open the park, located at 1840 4th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404.

The park is just a short walk away from our executive suite, located at 201 Santa Monica Blvd, Suite 300, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
